On February 9, 2017, PetSmart announced a voluntary recall of one production lot of Grreat Choice Adult Dog Food. The recall involved 13.2 ounce cans of Grreat Choice Adult Dog Food with Chicken and Rice Classic Ground.
This product was recalled as a precaution due to possible metal contamination that could pose a choking risk to dogs.
Reported illness or injury?
PetSmart has not received any consumer complaints to date. The recall was initiated after receiving notification from the manufacturer that they had received complaints.
PetSmart is not aware of any reported cases of illness or injury caused by this product to date.

The product involved in this recall involves a single lot of Grreat Choice Adult Dog Food with Chicken and Rice Classic Ground, 13.2 ounce cans, with UPC code 7-3725726116-7, lot number 1759338, and best by date (on the bottom of the can) of 08/05/2019.
No other Grreat Choice products are involved in this recall.
Distribution of recalled product.
This product was sold in PetSmart stores, on PetSmart.com, Pet360.com, and PetFoodDirect.com between October 10, 2016, and February 7, 2017.
What to do?
Anyone who purchased any of the recalled food should stop feeding it and bring any remaining cans to their local PetSmart for a full refund or exchange.
